Music Venues and Late-Night
An EcoShield is engineered planting that absorbs the pressure wave from a bomb blast, so less of it reaches the people on the other side. At a music venue it stands where the queue waits for the bag check, dividing it into lanes with planting between them.
What an EcoShield does at a music venue
Search happens at the bag check, and the queue for it is the densest crowd in the building that nobody has searched yet. Several hundred people stand there for forty minutes, in the same position every night, at a time published weeks in advance.
An EcoShield forms the lanes of that queue. It takes blast energy into dense living material instead of passing it on, which reduces the overpressure reaching the people in the next lane. It replaces the queue barriers you would put there anyway, and it is documented in the judgement Martyn's Law asks you to make.
Where it goes in a venue
It stands between the street doors and the bag check, in the foyer or on the venue's own forecourt, as the dividers between queue lanes. A clear route to the exits stays open alongside it, and it never crosses an escape route. Queue numbers, licence conditions on queue management and your fire strategy are inputs to the design. The entrance still looks like somewhere worth going into.
Protection for the queue before the bag check
Your door team checks tickets and bags at the entrance. The people queuing in the foyer or on your forecourt are waiting to reach that check, and nobody has searched them yet. An EcoShield gives that queue physical protection of its own.
It is a planted barrier with an engineered structure inside, designed for the threat of a bomb carried in by a person. It absorbs blast energy, so less of the pressure wave reaches the people behind it. It forms the queue lanes and stays clear of your exits, so your door team works exactly as it does now, and it gives you a physical measure to set alongside your procedures under Martyn's Law.
Your audience sees planting. A night out still feels like a night out, without a hint that anyone is expecting trouble.
Where it sits alongside what you have
Your search regime, your door staff, your cameras and your licence conditions do not change. Whatever is already at the kerb stays. An EcoShield takes the queue lanes in front of the bag check.
